Our Pastabilities Family
Pastabilities hums with an energetic vibe as guests arrive for lunch or dinner. It’s not unusual to see a multi-generational family celebrating a birthday, friends gathered
for lunch or after work to catch up with one another, or a couple on their first date. During ACC basketball season friendly rivalries punctuate the conversations and teams
that are in town may be dining here too. We take great pleasure in being the dining destination for those who visit us a few times a week and some who are here for the first
time.
We affectionately refer to our employees as our family; they’re family because they contribute so much to the dining experience with their expertise and personalities. Many
have been a part of Pastabilities for years and some have worked here since we opened in 1995.
Chris B. has the longest tenure (he arrived before co-owner, Cindy) and he reigns in the kitchen during lunchtime and on weekends. When he’s not at work, he’s a famous
bluegrass musician playing in Greensboro’s nightspots and in his hometown church in Boone.
Brandy was Cindy’s first hire and she has been a livewire since she arrived with her hair in a festive shade of purple. Though her hair color is now tamer, Brandy shares her
funny quick wit and a genuine love for Pastabilities and its many friends. Guests vie for the tables Brandy is serving because her “live entertainment” is part of the
experience!
Martin joined Pastabilities in 1999 when we were adding a bar and his expertise was needed. He originally worked with Cindy at her brother’s restaurant, Café Pasta, in the
early ‘90s. His loyal friends and fans are here every day, and with his incredible attention to detail, Martin is able to remember what our guests eat and drink. Don’t be
surprised if he remembers your favorite beverage or menu item when you make a return visit.
Jason joined Pastabilities in 2000 and has been creating amazing nightly specials ever since. He’s well-connected to local farmers so we can feature the freshest ingredients.
Jason studies food trends and knows how to put together enticing flavors; he enjoys the rave reviews shared by our guests. Food is always enticing when Jason is working on
the details!
Jason’s team in the kitchen includes Abner, Allen, Brad, Little Chris, Ryan, Matt, Rafi, David, Kobi and Maucelllo. These “behind the scenes” men take care of the details that
enable the rest of us to shine! They enjoy tallying the number of meals we serve each day to our dine-in, carry-out and delivery guests. On many days that is an incredible
number.
Kris B. has an artistic eye for plate presentations that are as delicious as they are beautiful. He joined our kitchen in 2009 and often works on innovative lunch and dinner
specials as well as leading offsite, catered events. His daughter Zoe is featured in our photos wearing a Pastabilities bib; we anticipate that Zoe will soon become the
“tester” for any additions to our children’s menu.
Elisia, Ginny, Emily, Jesika and Jon are among the most seasoned members of our wait staff and our newest members are Brandi, Linda and Deana. All are invested in learning
about the new additions to our wine and craft beer lists. They also study our menu so they can answer guests’ questions about food and healthier choices.
Our all-star hostess team, headed up by Jayme with help from Meg, Britni, Kasey, Katie and Meredith will greet you at the door. Their practiced eyes scan the room to quickly
figure out where to seat your party and they’re adept at maneuvering table configurations for larger parties. They ensure you’re served quickly and efficiently.
Matt, Ryan, Michael, Paul and Lucas are our speedy team of delivery drivers. They bring delicious meals (and sometime a few bottles of delectable wine) to customers’ homes or
offices without incurring speeding tickets. They are especially appreciative when customers remember to tip them generously for their great service
.
Cindy (co-owner of Pastabilities) runs the day-to-day operations, manages the “family” and personalizes the guests’ experiences so the business continues to thrive. She grew
up in the restaurant business; she and few brothers continue the family restaurant lineage in places near and far. Her tremendous energy, spirit of generosity and appreciation
are evident in everything she does.
Mrs. Essa (Cindy’s Mom) creates many of the superb desserts offered at Pastabilities. Each is homemade with fine ingredients and great care. We recommend ordering a dessert
for every member of your dining party to prevent fighting over “sharing” desserts.
Awards
Pastabilites has been fortunate to have earned a few awards over the years. In 2000, we received a Circle of Excellence award for Customer Service, presented by the Greensboro
Merchants Association. In 2007, we were awarded Small Business Retailer of the Year and recently were featured in the Triad Business Journal. Although we appreciate awards and
the great restaurant reviews we’ve received, the finest accolades we can earn are recommendations and repeat visits from our customer “family.” From our Pastabilities family
to your family, “Thank you for honoring us with your presence and friendship!”
